Molloy by Samuel Beckett (01.05.2025)

Waiting for Beckett?

The Gare St. Lazare theatre company is described by the New York Times as “the unparalleled Beckett champions.” They have been touring and producing new and innovative performances of Samuel Beckett’s work for 30 years.  As part of our 20th anniversary programme, we are delighted to bring back Conor Lovett’s performance of Samuel Beckett’s great novel Molloy, written in French and first published in English 70 years ago. The performance is directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett.

What the critics said:

“Magnificent…Wildy funny…Short, sharp and side-splitting… an extraordinary performance” – The Sunday Times

Lovett’s astonishing performance…completely inhabits the sound and spirit of Beckett’s work” – The Irish Times

“With Lisa Dwan, Lovett is the finest living Beckett interpreter, who understands – crucially – a tour de farce is as necessary as a tour de force. Outstanding.” –  FringeReview UK 2024
