GLAS is honoured to host “Songs from Ireland: Old and New 2019” featuring seven outstanding singers and musicians from Ireland whose work is inspired by the Celtic tradition. The show blends the traditional and the contemporary in an evocative and captivating performance.
The show will take you on a musical journey featuring the expressive play of the renowned fiddler and composer Colm Mac Con Iomaire (The Swell Season, The Frames) to the golden voice of the singer and actress Lisa Lambe, to the soulful songs of the songwriter Mark Geary – supported by Eamonn de Barra on bodhran and flute, pianist Catherine Fitzgerald, Frank Tate on the mandolin and Irish bouzouki, and guitarist John McLoughlin. With bags of humour, the show will uplift and enchant, leaving you with a spring in your step and a yearning to be on the next flight to the emerald isle.
